At Shepherd's Heart we are very excited about our Youth and our Youth Group.
When you are around them they excude an air of excitement and enthusiasm.
There is nothing like a great group of enthusiastic teenagers.
Their desire is to seek and know God and to share Him with others.
Their activities are varied and diverse.
They love knowing God and they love having fun.
They always seem to be ready , willing and able to help whenever they are called upon to do so.
Just recently, during our morning service, we had the supreme privilage of performing a "TRUE LOVE WAITS" Ring Ceremony for those in our Youth Group who wanted to make a commitment to sexual purity.
This is something they wanted to do and came and asked if they could.
"TRUE LOVE WAITS" Ring Ceremony is a special picture of the commitment to sexual purity shared between a parent and his or her teenage son or daughter.
In the ceremony the parent presents a ring to his or her teenage son or daughter to wear as a symbol of that teenagers commitment to purity.
The ring is a reminder of their commitment to purity, and that it was given to them by someone who loves them and supports them in their commitment.
They are to wear it with the knowledge that their purity is for God's Glory.
On their wedding night they are to give this ring to their spouse as a celebration of promises given and promises kept.
This ceremony may very well be one of the most meaningful events on our church calendar, because it can change the lives of our youth and families for generations.
Although this was our first time we have done this ceremony, we are believing for all of our youth to want to make the same commitment and we look forward to it as our Youth Group grows.
We love this group and we know you will too.
